Painting With Embossing Powders

This is tons of fun and so cool!   I think you will love it!

Yes, it is a little bit early for Christmas cards, but I saw this technique on Sandi McIver's blog and just had to try it.  (Thanks for sharing Sandi) Now I am looking through all of my stamp sets to see which ones will be good candidates for this.  In this sample I used the Stampin Up! stamp set Snow Swirled which is on page 38 of the new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog.  I also used brushed silver card stock, vellum card stock, Petals-A-Plenty Embossing folder (Big Shot), white satin ribbon and the Antique Brads.

Stamp Camp Raises Over $600 for Second Harvest Food Bank

 You all know by now that I have been participating with 6 other Stampin Up! Demonstrators to host several very big stamp camps that benefits various charities.  Well I wanted to share some pictures of the most recent camp that enabled us to give over $600 to Second Harvest Food Bank!  Way to go everyone who helped out or attended!  It was great fun and I think they all want to do it again.

Here are some pictures taken at the event.

7 units (at Blue Water Storage) were set up with tables and all the supplies needed to make a card.  Kathy Graves (right) seems to be enjoying herself.

Oh, and look at Debbie Wilson and Clara Johnson smiling for the camera.  Always nice to see you both!

Another unit with everyone busy at work.  Notice Diane Brown (2nd from the right).  She has no idea.....

Scrapbook Update New Trend

Trend Watch: Plum

As a fan of the many shades of purple, I can’t tell you how excited I am to see a lush shade of plum popping up all over sneak peaks for CHA Summer 2011. It’s so prominent that I’m officially issuing a trend watch: Keep your eyes peeled for fabulous plum products! 

Already I’ve noticed many top companies previewing product that features this lovely color. 

I have a feeling that this vibrant color is going to be found much more easily in papers and embellishments – and I’m looking forward to using it more in the future.

I really like the color palettes that I am seeing in use with plum. For more ideas I strongly recommend the design-seeds blog. They have daily inspiration and loads of color inspiration that never fails to give me fresh ideas.

Sunny Fun (From the Summer Mini Catalog) Quick and Easy

This will be on of the quickest cards you make!  From the new mini catalog, this set has 3 very cute image options.  You can't see it so well in the picture but the background is embossed with polka dots and the pop-cicle is 3 dimensional using Crystal Effects. So cute.  This is one of the cards that my Hostess Club will be making on Monday evening.

My 1st Ever Stampin Up! Ribbon Share & DSP Share!

Ribbon Share

This is a great way to order some of the new ribbons without depleting your craft budget!  

You can let me know that you want to be included by either emailing me at janet@stampingatthewhitehouse.com or hit the "email me" button about 1/3 of the way down on the left side of this page.

It takes 5 people to fill 1 ribbon share and 8 people to fill 1 DSP share. So, as soon as the shares are full, I will order the ribbon and Designer Series Paper and begin to cut and ship. Shipping will be Priority ($5.20) unless you want to pick it up.  

Since this is my first Ribbon or DSP Share, I am offering the NEW colors of ribbons only.  These are shown on page 194 an 195 of the new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. (They are marked with an "n" for new).  

This would cost  $400 if you were to order the full rolls yourself.  As a ribbon share, with each customer getting 2 yards, the cost is only $75.00 plus priority s/h at $5.20.

DSP Share

There are 13 new designs of DSP (not including the 3 Specialty designs or the Paper Stacks because they are packaged differently).  They are on page 184 of the catalog. If you were going to buy them all, it would cost $400 (with tax and s/h).  If you join the DSP share you will get  1- 6 x 6 sheet ....of all of them! 

That is 78 sheets!  Your cost is only $21 plus shipping to you.  (Priority or Parcel Post in a tube is $5.20)
