Memorial Day and 4th of July Decor Tutorial

Hey Everyone,

My club ladies requested that we make some type of a 3-Dimensional when we meet in June, so with that in mind.....I decided to make this little guy in time for Memorial Day as well.  He reminds me of the Maid on the Jetsons...What was her name? (I will send you a kit to assemble if you tell me! I'll draw a name Lottery Style...)  I actually was inspired by the Halloween characters that Gretchen Barron made.  He is really easy to make.

Supplies Needed: (All Stampin Up! unless otherwise noted)

Big Shot, Fancy Favors Box Die, Top Note Die, Large Oval Punch, 1/2" & 3/4" Circle Punches, Word Window Punch, 12 x 12 Night of Navy Card Stock, Star & Extra-Large Star Punch, Photo Corners Punch, Sponge, Red Glitter Card Stock, Soft Suede Ink Pad, Dimensionals, Small Glue Dots, Snail adhesive and Sticky Strip.

Step By Step Instructions:

Run 5 3/4" x 12" Night of Navy CS on the Fancy Favors Box Die through the Big Shot. Next run 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" Night of Navy CS on the Top Note Die 2 times so you will have the front and back.  Punch the eyes with scraps of Whisper White cs with the 3/4" circle punch.  Punch small and large stars with red glitter paper.  Punch mouth with Word Window punch from Night of Navy scraps.  Also the eyebrows with the Photo Corner punch.  Adhere these to the Top Note using Snail Adhesive.  I attached the stars on the top with mini glue dots.  The bottom of the nose was adhered with a Dimensional.  I then shaded with a sponge and Soft Suede ink.  Assemble the box with Sticky Strip and attach the front and back with it as well.

*The small flags came in packs of 3 at Target Dollar Spot and I think I got the red party shred from a craft store.

Hey ladies!

I am so excited to have you visiting today!  As you will see, most of what I write about is my business, hobby and love of anything paper!  I have always been pretty down to earth and tend to enjoy the simple things.  I love to learn new things and sometimes spread myself to thin...(anyone relate to that?) but scrapbooking and card making seem to have lasted through the years.  (Just turned 50 in November...yikes!).  

I joined SITS ...yeah you guessed it, ...looking for support!  As much as I like to share my business,  it has taken a bit of time to have a following on my blog.  I have visitors but without much to say.   I would love to see your comments and I promise to read and acknowledge them all.  I will make it  a point to return the favor.

Craft Room Shelves Tutorial

Creating Texture With the Big Shot

Bridal Shower Napkins Made With Rubber Stamps

 Continuing the "S" theme, I decided to make some personalized napkins.  Using plain white napkins, I chose the Jumble Alphabet stamp set  and Circle Circus stamp set from Stampin Up!.  (Yes, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig) Since we were going with the pink and green color theme, I stamped them in Certainly Celery.  We wrapped the napkin around the silverware and tied them with a bow. Its just a little thing.

Four Frames ~ Sneak Peak

Coming soon in the new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog, Four Frames stamp set will be available July 1st.  I love the fact that Stampin Up! has so many stamp sets that have coordinating punches.  This set in particular has 4 images that can be punched out with the DECORATIVE LABEL Punch # 120907.  That makes completing a project quick and easy.  I also used a very versatile stamp set called "Confetti" to create the background of this card.  So bright and cheerful!

 

Because I Care

Good morning everyone!  Time is running out to get this stamp set.  It is called "Because I Care" and is a level 1 hostess benefit.  It is so pretty!  (Much prettier in person!) The background was made with the "Big Shot" machine and the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder #120175.  The ribbon is from the Occasions mini and is not available anymore....(unless it makes the new big catalog in July...keep yor fingers crossed)  If you would like to have the stamp set, contact me ASAP to schedule a workshop, or a catalog party!  

Plane & Simple Father's Day Card

Yes,  a masculine card this time!  This stamp set, Plane & Simple #121964 was actually offered in the Occasions Mini which expired April 30th.  :(   Keep your fingers crossed that it will be available in July in the next big Idea Book and Catalog. (2011-2012)  I also used the Texturz Plates Kit # 4 - 114531.
